SoftSheen-Carson is the company behind the product that promises to rid of razor bumps.  There are several different varieties including Gold Fragrant, Regular Strength, Extra Strength, and platinum conditioning with Aloe and Vitamin E. 

What is Magic Shave Powder

It’s a powder used to remove unwanted hair without using a razor.  Most commonly used by those that face issues with razor burn and ingrown hairs.

Mixing the powder with water creates a paste that breaks down hair rather than cutting it off with a razor.

How to use Magic Shave Powder

  • Mix shave powder (.5 to 2 tsp) with equal amounts of water
  • Mix to create a paste like consistency (not too thick or too runny)
  • Apply to area where hair is to be removed
  • Leave it for 5 minutes
  • Wipe product off with washcloth
  • Rinse with cool water
  • Do not use this product within 36 hours of previously using a razor on your skin.

How does it work?

The word Depilatory means to remove unwanted hair.  It does this by chemically dissolving hair into a jelly like substance that can be wiped away from your skin.

How long does it last?

A 4.5 ounce container of Magic Shaving powder will last between 10 to 15 uses.  When using the product it will provide a smooth shave that should last up to about 3-4 days


Side Effects

It does not require a razor, so it minimizes razor burn and ingrown hairs.  Unfortunately the chemicals used can irritate the skin.  Those with sensitive skin are especially susceptible to irritation.

The best way to learn how your skin will react is to apply a very small amount to a small area on your skin to see how it reacts.

Consumers of this product experience a wide range of results.  Everything from it works wonderful to it doesn’t work at all.  Others complain about the irritation and most everyone doesn’t care for the smell of it.

I have Pcos so I deal with a lot of facial hair. I had literally tried everything waxing, plucking, shaving nothing seemed to work. I came across a video about Magic shaving powder I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I saw some in Walmart and was like you know what it can’t hurt to try and for only 1.27. I just tried it today and i am in love with the results!

Magic shaving powder works great on my legs. But tonight after using it my whole hand feels blustered and very irritated. I would recommend using some sort of gloves while using this product.

Re- magic shaving cream I use the blue and white can for removing unwanted hair on certain areas of my skin and it works fine with no side effects. It works far better than the popular brand I used to buy which just irritates my skin and doesn’t remove the hair.
